Land and Seascapes

Liam loved nature, both on land, as well as the natural drama of the sea.

He had many life-long ambitions, and one of them was to build a boat. Although that dream was never fulfilled, he reproduced the “currach”, the traditional boat from the west of Ireland, through his relief work.

Liam often incorporated the characteristics of the wood he was using into his pieces, be it the bark, the knots, rings or natural shape of the tree, as exemplified in “Forest floor”.
